What Gratia means
The name came first. A Latin word for thanks — and a promise about how a home might feel.

The name
Gratia.
Latin for grace: thanks given without a ledger. We took the word as a promise — that a home could be more considered without becoming a performance.
There was a season of candles, a cookbook waiting at the counter, a home line sketched in the mind. The stall at the market was never the point. This is: a house of ideas for the table, the light, and the rooms we actually live in.

The Table
Cook as if someone you love is coming.
Simple food, set with care. A living cookbook — lemon chicken, olive oil cake, a pot of beans — and the manners of a table that asks nothing except that you sit down.
The Light
Evening begins with a match.
Candles were the first idea. Not a market stall of scents — a quieter ritual. Beeswax, linen dusk, the small decision to make a room feel held.
The House
Rooms that rest.
Linen, plaster, wood, clay. A home line in spirit — not yet a catalogue. Ideas for the corners we actually live in.
At the table
A living cookbook.
Three meals we actually make. The longer book is coming — slowly, the way a good supper does.
